4-H@Home: Your Exciting New Way to Experience 4-H!

4-H BC, in conjunction with BC Dairy, is excited to introduce 4-H@Home- a fantastic opportunity for youth to explore the 4-H experience through fun, hands-on online projects. Whether you're 9 or 14, you can join from anywhere in the province—even if there’s no active 4-H club near you! Already a 4-H BC member? 4-H@Home is perfect for you too! Sign up today to try a project you’ve always been curious about.

4-H@Home offers exciting 6-week projects delivered in lively 1 to 1.5-hour online sessions. Each project provides a high-level introduction to a variety of 4-H-inspired topics. No experience? No problem! Beginners are absolutely welcome unless otherwise noted. 4-H@Home is open to all BC youth aged 9-17. Whether you’re a current 4-H member or brand new, you’re invited! And if you’re not already a member, we hope this will inspire you to join the 4-H family after participating.

We are committed to ensuring inclusivity, so youth with diverse abilities are welcome, but parent/guardian support may be needed to ensure the best possible experience..

4-H @ Home 2025 Projects:

Week 1: Introduction to Poultry
Learn what poultry is and explore chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, and other unique birds.
Week 2: Reproduction – What Came First?
Discover the chicken life cycle, egg anatomy, incubation, and hatching.
Week 3: Housing & Husbandry
Explore what poultry need to thrive and how to set up coops for backyard or commercial flocks.
Week 4: Anatomy & Physiology
Look at body parts like combs, feet, feathers, and behaviors like dust bathing and pecking.
Week 5: Nutrition & Health
Learn what poultry eat, how they digest food, and how to keep them healthy.
Week 6: 4-H and Poultry Projects
Find out what it’s like to do a poultry project in 4-H—from record books to fairs.
9-15 year old members or non-members of 4-H BC.
