What are the most valuable skills you gained through your 4-H experience?
“I started 4-H as a clover bud at 6 years old. I stayed until I aged out at 19! Through these years I had so many dedicated leaders that went up and above and really taught me the life skills 4-H is set out to do! Through these life skills I've been successful I'm starting my own business with horses and running it extremely successfully for 16 years (and counting). Public speaking is scary but try hard because you do need it in life! Demonstrations are tricky but strive for excellence because a teaching skill is so beneficial to work life and home life! Learning to make good choices and standing behind your reasons is a skill like no other in today's world! Go to every judging event! And last but definitely not least... go to all the activities 4-H has to offer because you make life long friends that you might not have ever met because they were in different clubs! I never thought my best friend of 20 years would have been from a swine club when I was in horse!”
