4-H has been a significant part of my life since an early age and has made a heartfelt impact. My 4-H life journey, both as a member and as a leader, has been a remarkable 40+ years which signifies my long term commitment and a deep dedication to the program. 4-H nurtured my personal growth as a child, young adult and provided experience in furthering my career.
My passion for raising and showing beef cattle was evident from the beginning and I’ve made it a priority to support and guide younger generations in this field. I have held various leadership roles within the 4-H organization, gaining experience in business, societies, and non-profit organizations.
4-H provided an extended family and lifelong friendships. It gave me a strong sense of belonging and connection to the 4-H community and having invaluable resources through others. Most memorable moment is watching my quiet shy son become an outgoing focused hard-working individual who was rewarded for his efforts and commitment to the program. The extended family that we both have gained throughout these years is phenomenal and have been surrounded by so many caring young adults.
I recognize the need for 4-H to adapt to changing times and learn from other provinces with strong agriculture and 4-H programs. I am an advocate for flexible club structures to accommodate various lifestyles and interests. I will be forever grateful for the experiences and opportunities that were given to me from being involved. My long-standing dedication, passion for agriculture, and deep commitment to youth development are my inspirations.
